I wanted to share some books that I've read while researching Unsolved New England: 20 Cases that Rocked the Region... (Shameless self-promotion 😊 - an Amazon affiliate link), and this seemed like a good place to start. The Garder Heist: The Story of the World's Largest Unsolved Art Theft is the first book I read about the Gardner Heist, and it introduced me to the intriguing Harold Smith!
Sunday Pictures ~ The Borden's of Fall River (Late 😓)
The spot in the guest bedroom where Abby Borden's body was found. The murder of Andrew and Abby Borden on August 4, 1892, is one of the first crimes I was aware of as a child (Yes, I totally jumped rope to the Lizzie Borden rhyme!). I have also been called Lizzie on multiple occasions by family members for my less than meek attitude. So this case is really close to my heart. I have stayed overnight at the Borden B&B in Fall River twice. The first time in this room, the Morse Room, where Abby Borden was murdered. The second time I stayed in the master bedroom. I totally recommend spending at least one night in the place (The staff is awesome and there is a lot to see! Plus just spending time in the atmosphere is really cool!) There is also a new B&B opening up in Maplecroft (The home of Lizzie and Emma, for a time, after the murders) which I am anxious to go to soon!
